Wedged just above the instep of Italy is the region of Campania. As with southern Italy in general, there has been a lot more interest in Campanian wines in recent years. Fiano is the most interesting grape variety locally.

Fiano.
Grapefruit, wild flowers, crushed chalk, slightly waxy, toasty. In the mouth it is poised and elegant, zesty, but with fruit richness, again waxy/toasty but bright and deep, some nice grip and length.
