It’s not that long since Portugal was a host of unpronounceable names and astringent reds with little more than domestic appeal dotted with the occasional drinkable Dão or the like. Today, it’s a much healthier story especially with up-coming regions like the Alentejo or where Douro vineyards are turning their attention to table wines rather than the Port trade.
