Agostino Lenci of Fattoria di Magliano wrote to us excitedly this week, with the news that in the 2013 ‘Vinellando‘, a competition organised by the local trade bodies for Morellino di Scansano, his 2011 MORELLINO DI SCANSANO Heba Fattoria di Magliano came out top.
“On the 23rd of August, the 2013 edition of “Vinellando” took place in Magliano in Toscana. Seventeen Morellino di Scansano (vintage 2011), were compared by ten professional tasters in a blind tasting under the supervision of Franco Ziliani.
It is with real pleasure I am here to inform that HEBA 2011 was the winner!
In previous editions of the same tasting, Heba had always done well: last year the 2010 vintage achieved Third place. But First place is certainly a great achievement, particularly as it hails from “our territory”, which only rewards hard work and perseverance which is what the people at Fattoria di Magliano dedicate themselves to everyday.
I would like to thank everybody for this noteworthy achievement.
