Pichon Baron 2014 (£640 IB) has been released this morning. Neal Martin says of this large-scaled, polished Pauillac “If the disappearance of Château Latour from en primeur is getting you down then this will fill that gap nicely”. The critics’ notes are unanimously good, but the prices of previous comparable vintages are only just above this.
Also out is Langoa Barton 2014 (£285 IB). Another lovely fresh wine from Langoa – as Neal Martin says: “one of the most under-rated crus in Saint Julien. It’s one that will surprise a few people once in bottle.” One you won’t regret having put away in ten years’ time.
