Titus Vineyards
Titus vineyards is a small property with vineyards in two distinct areas of the Napa valley, mostly around their sparkling new winery on the Silverado trail, just west of St Helena. After much faffing about the right time and place to build their own winery, they finally decided to grub up some vines in a less productive corner of one of their vineyards. Here they have built the most beautiful and perfectly efficient, state of the art winery. They cut the ribbon just in time to do their first crush in September 2015 and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labours very soon. Until now the team have used a nearby 'custom-crush' facility to put the Titus wines together, so things are looking up here and these are exciting times for the estate Titus is run by Eric and Philip Titus who took over the project from their father. Eric is in charge of the viticulture and Philip, who makes the wine at nearby Chappelet helps Titus' head-winemaker Stephen Cruzan with the vinification. The Titus wines form the core of the range, but their little brother 'Andronicus' is a fabulous addition, offering a taste of Napa at a great price. These are all beautifully made wines and after 15 years of working together we love how they offer drinkers top Napa Valley quality and style - without the often eye-watering price levels.
