Tasted twice and on neither time did it present as being very serious, but it does have a crowd-pleasing smooth richness and a reasonably full dark fruit. 2015-2022. Rating: 87-88 L&S (Apr 2014)

From Helene Garcin (who does a fabulous job with all her family’s estates), this blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot exhibits a Graves-like bouquet of scorched earth, charcoal embers, red and black currants, loamy soil and tobacco leaf. Blackcurrant leaf, bitter chocolate, dark-fruit character. Pretty compact and intense, but with great balance and much more weight on the palate than most. Impressively done.
