From the top-dog pink wine estate Domaine Sainte Lucie in Puyloubier, close to Cézanne’s much-painted Montagne Sainte Victoire, MiP* bursts with brilliant, red berry-stashed, barbecue-friendly fruit and is equally happy with grilled prawns or salmon. Jane MacQuitty, The Times (Jul 2015)

Delicately pale like a blossoming peony, this sell-out wine from Guillaume Philip has notes of wild strawberries, a creamy acidity and a crisp, dry finish. Powerful as well as pretty, this pairs well with light meals, salads and grilled Mediterranean seafood. (The 12 best Provençal-style rosé wines you need to know about this summer). Nuria Stylianou, The Evening Standard (Jul 2015)

My top rosé for this summer is made from vines grown on the slopes of the Mont St Victoire, famously painted by Cézanne. It is an old favourite, so I was delighted to see that it performed exceptionally well in the blind rosé tasting I attended, despite being one of the cheapest three wines, and also that I liked it just as much when I didn’t know what it was. I love this for offering the savour and herbaceous qualities of its more expensive counterparts. If you want to secure your own supplies, hurry. Every year this delicate pink sells out before the end of July. “We ordered 40 per cent more last year and it still sold out,” says Charles Lea. “This year we ordered 40 per cent more than that, so we’ll see how long it lasts.” Victoria Moore, The Daily Telegraph (Jun 2015)

Made in Provence

Formerly Domaine Sainte Lucie, this is a domaine with wonderful vineyard holding on the dry stony lower slopes of the Provençal icon mountain, the Mont Saint Victoire. Forty hectares of vines with an average age of thirty-five. These deep soils can only support vines, and are perfect for the production of low yields and fine wines. The wines are made from a mix of Grenache and Syrah, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault, and the rosés get an addition of Vermentino (Rolle) which adds a bright floral expression.
