Deep colour, full and succulent, stays fresh and with supple mid-palate weight and a fine, direct Médoc character. Some charm to the feel, a nice gentle rich aspect to the fruit with spice and vigour, this is another excellent Médoc from Philippe and Gilles Reich, who also make the popular Château Aimée. The 2018 L’Argenteyre has a clean, well-defined bouquet of cedar-infused black fruit and a subtle touch of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, plenty of cedar and mint-infused black fruit and a focused, quite structured finish that manages to retain freshness. Excellent.
