A superb example of the appellation – firm and tannic, a bit more reserved than the Clos de Bèze perhaps, but with an earthy, smoky charm of its own, and abundant ripe plum and black cherry fruit aromas. The texture is dense and substantial, but the wine avoids heaviness to exhibit traditional charm. Give this wine five to seven years to open up, and drink it over the next three decades. Drinking range: 2030 - 2055 Rating: 95 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter.com (May 2024)

You can smell the coolness here between the crushed chalk, marine breezes, mint, wild strawberry and crunchy raspberries. The tannins are refined, the oak is subtle and the acidity is flirty. Bramble and crushed flint scent the stunningly long finish. There are several plantation dates, but most vines are about 40 years old, and all of them sit directly in the heart of the cru. Rating: 96 Tim Atkin MW, www.timatkin.com (Jan 2025)

(from a large 1.21 ha parcel). Moderate wood influence suffuses the cool, airy and pretty peppery and spicy aromas of rose petal, red currant and wet stone. The gorgeously textured, even lilting, middle weight flavors ooze minerality on the strikingly long and youthfully austere finale that could again use more depth. Even so, this is pretty much textbook Latricières. Drinking range: 2035 - Rating: 92-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2025)

Cask sample. Surprisingly pale. Just a little loose but there is some attractive savour (as opposed to sweetness) and some grand cru life to this. Tannin very much in evidence but the wine is persistent and obviously trying hard. (JR) Drinking range: 2025 - 2038 Rating: 17 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2024)
