On limestone, but in pebble form - base of the Combe that slices throught the cote above the village. Beautifully floral - and pretty. High toned. Just so Chambolle. Lifted aromatics giving an ethereal essence of red flowers. So pretty. Classic lines - this is really good in that lifted style. L&S (Nov 2024)

Three barrels made, vinified with 30% whole bunches in a small wooden vat. A lighter ruby purple, with an enthralling bouquet, very perfumed, strawberries both fresh and crushed, medium-bodied, yet walking with a lightness of tread, fractionally lactic at the back, which actually suits the strawberries quite well, and very persistent. The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
