Inky colour, and a purity of fruits on the aromatics, with well-teased out ripe plum and cassis character. Here the terroir is speaking over the vintage, delivering peony, iris, lilacs, fine tannic architecture, with salinity that flows through the acidity, giving juice without agressivity. First year official certified organic. 34hl/h yield, early deleafing in June, and waiting to harvest, until September 27 through to October 7. Density sorting here, plus cold soak, 55% new oak barrels. Drinking range: 2030 - 2044 Rating: 94 Jane Anson, www.janeanson.com (May 2025)

The 2024 Clos du Clocher is attired in a special label celebrating 100 years since Jean-Baptiste Bourotte's father purchased the first plot in front of the church. It also represents the first officially organic vintage from this producer. This was picked from September 27 until October 6 at 34 hl/ha, then fermented in concrete and stainless steel tank. This has more fruit intensity on the nose than the Bonalgue, with black cherry, cassis and neatly integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and sapid, with plusher/fuller tannins, a keen thread of acidity and the 25% Cabernet Franc imparting a cracked black pepper note toward the finish. Enjoy this over the next two decades. Drinking range: 2028 - 2048 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (May 2025)
Pliant and expansive, the 2024 Clos du Clocher is another impressive wine from a château that has been on the rise in recent years. Inky blue fruit, lavender, licorice, spice and mocha fill out the layers. Ample and explosive, with superb depth, the 2024 has a ton to offer. Blue clay soils confer notable volume and resonance, something this vintage needed. Sweet floral notes reverberate on the finish. Drinking range: 2034 - 2054 Rating: 92-95 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Apr 2025)
Clos du Clocher
A property in three plots on the plateau of Pomerol, about 4.6 hectares, a mixture of clay, gravel and sandy soils, planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in about 60% new wood and production is around 2000 cases per annum. A new chai was created in 2010, and quality has leapt forward here.
