We started selling Legras, a Grand Cru (all from Chouilly) Blanc de Blancs (ie all Chardonnay) Champagne, when we first opened the shop at out original Fulham Road site at 301, opposite the cinema, the old home of 'Les Caves de la Madeleine UK', which bought wines selected by Steven Spurrier for his Paris shop. The Champagnes of R&L Legras were among these, so it seemed sensible to go on selling it to the locals who knew it.

Legras has remained wonderfully consistent in its high quality for all of the intervening years, and remains a firm favourite, both as an aperitif and as a 'session' Champagne, clean-tasting and round enough to be good to just go on drinking. (As served at Charles Lea's wedding). The Vintage is a bargain. The normal 'case' price will automatically be applied to any purchase of six bottles.
