This year they have bolstered the small harvest with some bought-in grapes from Monthelie. The attack is graceful and nicely pitched - with weight building to a lovely soft feel. Deep fruit - with plum and dark cherry dominating the red-fruit notes. Great line of acid holds the fresher lines in place and this is a satisfying, admirable Bourgogne Rouge. In the early to mid-term, this will give real satisfaction. L&S (Nov 2022)

(from vineyards in Santenay, Marsannay and the lower portions of Volnay). A very pinot nose is ultra-fresh with its layered aromas of both red and dark berries and discreet earth wisps. The delicious, plump and round middleweight flavors offer better than average depth and persistence in a balanced package. This is built on its fruit but importantly, it isn’t simple. Drinking range: 2023 - 2024 Rating: 87 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Apr 2023)

Made from some of their own fruit ex Domaine Darnat and some bought in grapes along with a bit of purchased Monthelie. The only red wine made here with traditional vinification in tank. Mid purple. Some fine fruit but not too exuberant. Bracing at the back, fresh acidity allied to youthful tannins, but with a concentration of quality pinot. Drinking range: 2024 - 2027 Rating: 87-88 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Oct 2022)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
