CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY
2021 1er Cru Les Charmes Domaine Faiveley
Such a pretty nose. Red berries - tight and crunchy with some crushed petals too. Just so enticing and proper pinoté character. On the palate there is more of this, but there is surprising intensity too. Some bones as well - not angular - but not as silky and sleek as the attack would suggest. This does remain a charmer though, but with more guts than anticipated this year.L&S (Nov 2022)

Popping with delicate rosebuds on the nose, this has oodles of strawberries and sweet spice, too. Supple, fresh and giving, this is the definition of Chambolle Charmes. Interestingly, these are bush vines. Rating: 94 *** Christy Canterbury MW - TimAtkin.com (Feb 2023)
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Charmes 1er Cru has an uncomplicated bouquet with sous-bois infused red fruit, just a little diffuse at first though I find it coheres with aeration. Airy. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, fine acidity, a little brusqueness towards the finish but I appreciate the underlying pepperiness courtesy of the stem addition. Drinking range: 2024 - 2038 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2023)
Cask sample. Perfumed, sweet yet lifted. With an undertow of structure. And just a hint of bitterness on the end. Quite enough presence in the mouth. Quite intriguing! Drinking range: 2024 - 2036 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2022)
A slightly less intense but pretty purple, some whole bunches here. They also stretch out the fruit across the palate beautifully. This is a very deft Chambolle with plenty of nuance, extremely floral, and with a graceful structure. Rating: **** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2022)
Domaine Faiveley
The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côtes de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
