Cask sample. Certainly not a blockbuster. But surprisingly sweet and pretty already. Well contained, with grand cru concentration evident underneath the palate. Really rather dangerously delicious already. Drinking range: 2027 - 2042 Rating: 18 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2022)

This follows neatly from the Gevrey Chambertins in the tasting - there is some brawn and power up front - but quickly the polished and neatly ripe fruit dominates the palate. Sweet plum flesh and some cherry notes are just checked by the line of mineral undertow pushing through to the finish. The pure lines in the middle are very charming and accessible for a Grand Cru at this stage. This is no heavy-weight.L&S (Nov 2022)

There's an openness to this red, from its enticing cherry, strawberry, spice and sun-kissed vegetal aromas and flavors to its bright acidity and light-weight, dusty tannins. Balanced and persistent, with a deft use of oak and a spice-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2026 through 2042. Drinking range: 2026 - 2042 Rating: 94 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Aug 2023)

Jérôme Flous vinified the domaine's three parcels together due to the small quantities. In 2022, he had a separate cuvée for each parcel. Impressively spicy on the nose, robust blackberry fruit takes center stage on the palate. The tannins give this distinguished grip that pull the flavors into a long finish. Drinking range: 2023 - Rating: 95 *** Christy Canterbury MW - TimAtkin.com (Feb 2023)

Domaine Faiveley

The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côtes de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
