LATRICIÈRES CHAMBERTIN
2021 Grand Cru Domaine Faiveley
Cask sample. Crackling texture with lots of energy. Fruit is ripe enough. Quite an emphatic impression on the palate. With the depth of Chambertin but more ethereal. And, again, a light note of bitterness on the end. Drinking range: 2027 - 2043 Rating: 17.5+ Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Nov 2022)

Such a pretty attack, a red fruit spark tingles with juicy joy. Yet this develops quickly to something far more serious - showing true Grand Cru pedigree. The fruit is quite bold - red accented and sleek with a more serious, darker line of sinew building gently towards the finish. Lots of drive. Impressive and charming, but serious too.L&S (Nov 2022)
Taut and sinewy, with cherry, raspberry, menthol and oak spice aromas and flavors under the grip of dense, dusty tannins. The fruit and supple texture still need to emerge and balance the tannins. Best from 2026 through 2040. Drinking range: 2026 - 2040 Rating: 94 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Aug 2023)
Take the trouble to investigate the depths of this very impressive 2021 Grand Cru Burgundy, the aroma spectrum of which stretched from redcurrant to violet, from wet earth and savory to wild blackberry. Impressive power that’s beautifully integrated on the rich palate. Bright and beautifully crafted at the very long finish. Drink or hold. Rating: 96 Stuart Pigott, JamesSuckling.com (Aug 2023)
(from a large 1.21 ha parcel). A more elegant, and strikingly pure, if less spice-suffused nose speaks of essence of red cherry, discreet earth and a hint of forest floor trimmed in a whiff of wood. The delicious and vibrant middleweight flavors possess even better delineation and more obvious minerality on the youthfully austere finish that also reflects a hint of bitter pit fruit character. Lovely and understated in style. Drinking range: 2031 - Rating: 90-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2023)
The 2021 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, traditionally the latest Grand Cru that Faiveley picks, has quite a tertiary, classically-styled "old school" bouquet of dark berry fruit, touches of Earl Grey and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, taut and fresh, a little foursquare with a peppery finish that might fool you into thinking there were some whole bunches. Lots of character and charm. Drinking range: 2025 - 2042 Rating: 91-93 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2023)
Medium full purple, this has a lively full raspberry note without exaggeration. There is a just a little bit of white pepper here too, like the Lavaux, but it doesn’t come from whole bunch. This follows through very well on the palate, with great length and perfect balance, and just a touch more fruit volume than the Echezeaux. Rating: ***** Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2022)
Fairly dense crimson in colour. There is a solid weight of fruit on the nose, dark raspberry with some strawberry too. Some depth to this. A mix of mineral and floral for Jérôme while I find something earthier. Firm tannins at the finish but plenty of fruit to surround them. Drinking range: 2028 - 2036 Rating: *** 92-94 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Nov 2022)
