MEURSAULT
2021 1er Cru Genevrières Domaine Henri Boillot
Cool, pure and wonderfully airy aromas include those of exotic tea, acacia blossom, citrus and discreet spice wisps. The almost painfully intense middleweight flavors exude a bracing minerality on the superbly long, balanced and explosive finish. This is excellent, indeed it’s textbook Genevrières Drinking range: 2029 - Rating: 93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2023)

The 2021 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru is bright, finely cut and full of character. Crushed rocks, sage, mint, lemon peel and ginger gradually open with a bit of coaxing. The Genevrières is quite reticent but holds promise. Sadly, there is just one 350-liter in 2021. Readers lucky enough to find it will see a classic example of this site. Drinking range: 2024 - 2031 Rating: 91-93 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2022)
First picked. Mid yellow, white flowers, quite ripe. Evolving into more interesting nuances as it opens. Plenty of concentration on the palate. Mildly lactic but also very saline, which extends the aftertaste. Drinking range: 2026 - 2031 Rating: 91-94 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy (Oct 2022)
Domaine Henri Boillot
A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.
The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
