A calm amplitude, but not yet very expressive. The texture is all in place but not the aromatics, and it will take a moment to reveal - but lovely balance and length, it's all there. Drinking range: 2026 - 2032 L&S (Oct 2022)

Cask sample. Lively, fresh crimson-fruited wine with real energy and pizzazz. Drinking range: 2025 - 2037 Rating: 16.5 Jancis Robinson OBE MW - www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2023)
(from 5 different parcels located in La Columbière, Champs Goudins and Le Pré de la Folie, which are contiguous vineyards located below the village and above the Route Nationale). A slightly riper and markedly spicier nose is comprised by notes of plum, dark currant and floral wisps, especially violet. The delicious and velvet-textured medium weight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm tannins shaping the nicely persistent, balanced and complex finale. This is a lovely Vosne villages and worth considering. Drinking range: 2028 - Rating: 89-91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2023)
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village is a blend of four parcels, cropped at 36hL/ha and matured in one-third new oak. It has a perfumed bouquet with wilted violets infusing the red berry fruit. The palate has a sense of brightness on the entry, hints of confit strawberry, just a very light marine note with a finely-structured, lightly-spiced, bitter cherry finish. This will be difficult to resist young. Drinking range: 2025 - 2038 Rating: 89-91 Neal Martin, www.vinous.com (Jan 2023)
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg
Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg was founded in 1933 on the marriage of Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Holdings then consisted of Bourgogne, village Nuits, village Vosne and Echezeaux. Their son Georges, an opthalmologist by day, added to the vineyards, but his acquisitions (Nuits 1ers Crus Vignes Rondes and Chaignots, Chambolle 1er Cru Feusselottes, and Grands Crus Clos Vougeot and Ruchottes Chambertin) were kept separate as Domaine Georges Mugneret.
On Georges' death in 1988, his widow Jacqueline and daughter Marie-Christine took over. Marie-Andrée, the younger daughter joined them a little later having completed her studies as an oenologist. In 2009 Jacqueline retired and the two domaine names were put together to become Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, ending the prior confusion of labels.
The sisters have proved more than safe hands as far as the winemaking is concerned, and these are top-flight Burgundies with that elusive balance of enough concentration allied with delicacy of expression and the capability to age well. All the vineyard management has been brought in-house (the domaine previously relied on two métayeurs for part of the vineyard) and the quality has reached new heights, its wines some of the most sought-after in the Côte de Nuits. In 2017 Marie-Christine 's daughter Lucie joined the domaine, and Marion and Fanny, daughters of Marie-Andrée are now also part of the team.- For full delivery details see our Delivery page.
