Thibault was unsure what he would call this one when I visited, as he had to vinify the Beaux Bruns and Fouchères together. Both more sophisticated terroirs, Fouchères is high up just above premier cru les Borniques, and his parcel of Beaux Bruns is high up that slope too, tucked just under the the part that is premier cru. This shows it's class with a lovely delicate touch and finesse. Floating elegance. Drinking range: 2026 - 2033 L&S (Oct 2022)

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny BB Fouch, a working title, is a blend of the Aux Beaux Bruns and Les Fouchères. The bouquet is quite perfumed with conspicuous dried rose petal scents infusing the tart red fruit laced with tangerine. The palate is well balanced with a candied entry, moderate depth, almost Vosne-like with a very silky finish. Not a powerful Chambolle, but pretty and it should drink well for a decade. Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs
The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
