The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Belle Croix has a clean, precise nose with crushed stone filtering through the vivid red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, a little more pedigree and nuance than the La Charmotte with impressive persistence on the finish. Very fine. Grown on complex clay soils with very little limestone. Once again the colour is quite a deep purple for this vintage, with a good weight of fruit. The fresh raspberry fruit is evenly spread across the palate, nicely balanced, with a clean fresh finish, without the fractional volatility of La Charmotte Drinking range: 2025 - 2030 Rating: **** 90-92 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Nov 2022)

The lack of the word 'domaine' in the name signals that this is a négociant wine from Thibault Liger-Belair. On the whole Thibault buys grapes having tended the vines with his own team, so that the wines are domaine wines in all but name.
